Day 5 - We have reached our destination!!!!!

Early start from Bacalar as there were only 2 ferries from Corazol and the last was at 3 pm. Breakfast consisted of tacos from a roadside hole in the wall. Doug experienced his first flat and after a quick Nascar style pit stop, we were off and riding in record time. Easy ride to the border with a armed guard check point before Chetumal which was pretty intimidating.
We breezed through customs and rode the last 20 km`s into Corazol and arrived much earlier then anticipated so did what we do best for the afternoon, sampled the Belikin beer.
After loading the bikes and packs on the boat, we left the coast and headed for San Pedro, with a stop half ways in the middle of the ocean to switch captains.
The initial plan was to camp but we arrived at dark and decided to spend the night in a hotel and then check out the camping in the morning. The hotel put us up in the penthouse suite for $160 a night split 5 ways and its as big as a house. Living room with sat tv, full kitchen, dining room, 2 bedrooms with separate baths, washer and dryer. It is nicer then some of the 5 star resorts I have stayed in, so, we will stay here for 5 nights. We had offers getting off the ferry to buy our bikes because they have nothing like them down here. May be selling it and busing it back if the right offer comes along.
The island is definitely unique consisting of narrow paver stone roads and golf carts for transportation. Kerry was last here 5 years ago and says that it has changed.
I woke early and am watching the sun rise over the ocean from the kitchen table...spectacular!!
