Here we are in Bacalar spending the evening at the Hotel America. Long ride today and hot,hot,hot! On the road by 9 and everyone had enough riding by 3. No mechanical failures and except for the heat, all went extremely well. The alarm is set for 7 am as we need to make the water taxi to San Pedro before the 3 pm departure to ensure room for our bicycles. Bacalar is sure an interesting place and really makes one appreciate what they do have! Dirt streets, concrete buildings with no windows and people walking everywhere. Most of the stores are the front of a house with some kind of thing for sale. It has been a real eye opener for us and definitely gives you a different perspective of a all inclusive Mexico vacation. We have seen so much litter on the roads, mostly pop bottles and beer bottles.
